Abstract: In this talk I will present听 work in progress with M. Bertolini, M. Seveso and R. Venerucci relating听rational听points听on modular abelian surfaces, of $GL_2$ type听 over $Q$, and special values of suitable $p$-adic $L$-functions. Most of the talk will be devoted to the definition of the latter.
