This August, Professor Fran莽ois Cr茅peau took over the mandate of Director of the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP) from Professor Colleen Sheppard.

Fran莽ois Cr茅peau is United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Migrants. He holds the Hans & Tamar Oppenheimer Chair in Public International Law at the Faculty of Law, where he teaches Migration Law, Immigration and Refugee Law, and Constitutional Law. He became a member of the Royal Society of Canada in 2012.

We are pleased to announce that Professor Richard Gold has accepted to serve the Faculty as Associate Dean (Graduate Studies) for a three-year term which started on September 1st, 2015.

A James 海角精品黑料 Professor, Richard Gold was the founding Director of the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy. He teaches in the area of intellectual property, international intellectual property, comparative intellectual property, innovation policy and intellectual property management. His research generally focuses on the life sciences.

A group of 海角精品黑料 students and alums who worked on the Myko Social Score app have received the 2015 Catalyst Award for Excellence in Applied Student Research.

The Award is sponsored by the 海角精品黑料 Office of Sustainability and is decided by a distinguished jury. DCL candidate Juan Pinto, undergrad law student Etienne Ravilet Guzman, as well as alumni Carolina Cruz-Vinaccia (LLM鈥11) and Guillaume B茅al (LLM鈥14), were among the members of the multidisciplinary team that received the group award.

The Younger Comparativists Committee (YCC) of the American Society of Comparative Law has selected Professor Kirsten Anker as the inaugural recipient of the Richard M. Buxbaum Prize for Teaching in Comparative Law.

聽In their nomination, the YCC praised Professor Anker for her 鈥渞ich and creative efforts in the teaching of indigenous law, including her successful field course鈥. They also recognized 鈥渢he wide scope of [her] teaching interests鈥, her "rigorous approach to comparative law and legal pluralism" and the interdisciplinary approach of her courses.

Access to Nahum Gelber Law Library during exam period
Tuesday, April 7 to Wednesday, April 29, 2015

From Tuesday, April 7 to Wednesday, April 29, 2015, the main floor and second floor of the Nahum Gelber Law Library will be open for study to all 海角精品黑料 students during opening hours. During this period, only 海角精品黑料 Law students will be able to access the third, fourth and fifth floors using their ID cards on the card readers installed in both elevators and in access points.聽

Professor Jaye Ellis has been appointed Acting Director of the 海角精品黑料 School of Environment (MSE) for a one-year term beginning in September 2015.

Professor Ellis, who holds a joint appointment with the MSE, teaches and conducts research in the fields of international environmental law, public international law, international legal theory and international relations. Previously, she was Associate Dean (Academic) at the Faculty from 2011 to 2014.
