This Lunch and Learn will provide a practical way introduce participants to how mRNA- LNP based biotherapeutics are manufactured\, and showcase opportunities an d career pathways in the biomanufacturing sector. \n\nAbout the Speaker\n \nSven Ansorge \n\nSven has more than 15 years of experience in biopharmac eutical industry and R&D. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Poly technique de Montréal and has led teams and projects within academic and i ndustrial/GMP manufacturing environments. He is specialized in bioprocessi ng for the production of viral vectors\, vaccines\, recombinant proteins a nd cell therapy products. His experience spans from small biotech (Enobia/A lexion\, ExCellThera) to large pharma (GSK\, Belgium) and from R&D/process development to commercial GMP manufacturing. Since 2022\, he works at the Canadian Alliance for Skills and Training in Life Sciences (CASTL). CASTL provides world-class technical skills development and training in life sc iences specializing in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. It is a unique par tnership between academia\, industry\, and government to address the futur e skills needs of the fast-growing bioscience sector. As Director of Techn ical Training\, Sven currently oversees technical training that CASTL prov ides through its training facilities in Charlottetown (PEI)\, Montreal (QC ) and Richmond (BC). Prior to joining CASTL\, he led the manufacturing and process development activities at ExCellThera (2019-2022)\, a clinical st age cell therapy company and contributed to developing a cell therapy prod uct towards commercial approval. From 2014-2019\, he was at the National R esearch Council Canada (NRC) where he built and managed a team focusing on scaling-up cell culture-based suspension processes. This included process development and technology transfer of upstream bioprocesses using multip le cell line platforms. One of the focus areas was the development of perf usion-based lentiviral vector production processes\, which Sven started to work on in 2006 as a PhD student under Amine Kamen’s supervision. Togethe r with collaborators and colleagues\, he has published more than 20 peer-r eviewed manuscripts and has presented at multiple international conference s. Since 2019\, he is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Bioenginee ring at º£½Ç¾«Æ·ºÚÁÏ.\n\nRegister\n\nBe part of this exciting learnin g opportunity with industry!\n\nRegister here to receive the Zoom link\n\n For those attending in-person\, there will be a networking session with li ght refreshments following the presentation. Space is limited! \n\nReserve your spot today\n\nConfirmation emails will be provided to registered par ticipants a few days before the event.\n DTSTART:20251106T170000Z DTEND:20251106T183000Z SUMMARY:Hybrid Event | Lunch and Learn with CASTL URL:/drs/channels/event/hybrid-event-lunch-and-learn-c astl-368313 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
