We鈥檙e pleased to invite you to our upcoming Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Workshop on Microaggressions.听This collaborative event, co-hosted with the 海角精品黑料 Equity Office, will offer real case studies and provide an engaging, interactive space to explore inclusive practices, exchange perspectives and strengthen our shared commitment to equity and belonging.

Lunch will be provided.

About The Moderators

Lynda Bulimo joined the Equity team in 2022 as an Equity Education Advisor (Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression Education). Her work primarily focuses on developing and leading education-based initiatives for staff and faculty towards anti-racism and anti-oppression. Lynda has worked in a range of educational contexts, including higher education, as a teacher and curriculum developer. She holds a B.Ed. and Certificate in Global Citizenship from the University of Alberta, and an M.A. in Education and Society from 海角精品黑料, where she completed a thesis entitled: Investigating the Relationships among Anti-Blackness, Racism and Mental Health for Black Instructors in an Alberta College.

Shannon Wood听(they/them/iel) is one of two equity education advisors on the Equity Team. Their portfolio is building equity education initiatives focused on gender, 2S&LGBTQIA+, and intersectional equity. Shannon鈥檚 prior positions at 海角精品黑料 include managing the It Takes All of Us sexual violence education program under both Teaching and Learning Services and the Office for Sexual Violence Response, Support and Education. They hold a BA Communication from Simon Fraser University and a GradDip Human Resources Management from 海角精品黑料. Shannon is passionate about employee wellbeing and helping foster more inclusive, safer work environments.

The EDI Committee听

The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, housed under the Department鈥檚 Graduate Programs, is dedicated to fostering a culture of respect, belonging and inclusive excellence across all areas of departmental life. Comprising faculty, staff and learners, the committee works collaboratively to identify barriers, promote equity-focused initiatives and support underrepresented voices within our academic, clinical and research communities. Through ongoing reflection, education and advocacy, the EDI Committee helps ensure that our Department remains a welcoming environment where diverse perspectives are valued and every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
