 the University of Victoria. Dr. Greaves will deliver a talk titled Climate
  Change and In/Security in Canada. \n\nAbstract\n\nThis presentation exami
 nes the implications of human-caused climate change for in/security in Can
 ada. It first outlines the impacts of climate change on five areas of secu
 rity in Canada: human security\, economic threats\, Arctic threats\, human
 itarian crises at home and abroad\, and increased risk of domestic conflic
 t. I then argue that despite the material threats it poses\, climate chang
 e has not been successfully ‘securitized’ due to the intersections of Cana
 da’s distinct regional interests\, electoral system\, and partisan ideolog
 ies. It concludes by outlining two distinct potential futures for climate-
 related in/security in Canada.\n
