DESCRIPTION:What would it mean to reconcile the sovereignty of the Crown wi
 th the pre-existence of Indigenous societies and what are our responsibili
 ties in this matter? In this presentation\, Professor Allard-Tremblay argu
 es that non-Indigenous peoples in Canada hold a responsibility to support 
 Indigenous efforts to take their land back and to assert their jurisdictio
 n. This is presented as a way 海角精品黑料 to challenge sovereign pretensions b
 y the Crown in a politically transformative fulfillment of past agreements
  with Indigenous peoples and of international standards included in the UN
 DRIP\, that has the potential to work against impending ecological ruin.\n

 About聽Yann Allard-Tremblay\n\nYann Allard-Tremblay obtained his PhD in phi
 losophy from the universities of St Andrews and Stirling. He previously he
 ld postdoctoral research fellowships at the Centre for Research in Ethics 
 of the University of Montr茅al and at the 海角精品黑料 Research Group on Constitu
 tional Studies. Dr. Allard-Tremblay is a member of the Huron-Wendat First 
 Nation.\n\nDr. Allard-Tremblay鈥檚 current research in political theory is f
 ocused on the decolonization and Indigenization of political theory. More 
 specifically\, Dr. Allard-Tremblay is interested in investigating ways in 
 which existing mainstream concepts and methods in political theory may sil
 ence and distorts the thoughts and claims of Indigenous peoples. He is als
 o interested in investigating ways in which the political thoughts and cla
 ims of Indigenous peoples offer alternative ways to think about\, and tran
 sform\, political conduct and political concepts. Dr. Allard-Tremblay鈥檚 ea
 rlier research was concerned with epistemic theories of democracy. The cur
 rent focus of his research is the result of a progressive turn to politica
 l pluralism.\n
