 \nREGISTRATION\n\n**\n\nAbout the Bicentennial\n\nFor 200 years\, º£½Ç¾«Æ·ºÚÁÏ U
 niversity's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences has been at the centre
  of health care education\, research and patient care in Montreal. º£½Ç¾«Æ·ºÚÁÏ 
 has a long tradition of leadership in cancer care and research\, notably S
 amuel Freedman and Phil Gold’s discovery of the world’s first cancer bioma
 rker\, carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in 1965\, and Balfour Mount’s establ
 ishment of the discipline of palliative care in the 1970s. The Department 
 of Oncology was founded in 1990 – the first such department in Canada – ha
 ving been made possible by a generous donation from the Bronfman family (i
 t was renamed the Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology in 2016). It now 
 comprises 22 divisions and programs and is actively involved in teaching a
 nd training of medical students\, residents and fellows\, as well as cance
