Biography: 

Dr. Catherine Vezina studied medicine at Laval University before completing a residency in pediatrics at the University of Sherbrooke. She then joined º£½Ç¾«Æ·ºÚÁÏ for her fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology in 2007 before working as an attending physician. She has been the director of the hematology-oncology division since 2024. Dr. Vezina has also been co-director of the MUHC's Hereditary Coagulation Disorders Clinic since 2013 and representative of the Hemophilia Treatment Centers in Quebec since 2022. She has been a member of the Groupe d’experts en hémostase and of the Groupe d’experts en médecine transfusionnelle pédiatrique of the Reseau Quebecois de Medecine Transfusionnelle since 2024. Together with her adult hematology colleague Dr. Margaret Warner, they created the Rare Congenital Blood Disorder Center Kids Through Adults dedicated to bringing novel life changing therapies to children and adults with benign, but never the less, life threatening blood disorders. Our group worked hard to bring the most innovative therapies to our patients, all the while contributing to international knowledge into the science and mechanism of rare disease.
