Application Instructions and Submission Portal for Geneva Graduate Institute MA in International Development Studies

We are very happy to announce a new partnership for IDS majors: the opportunity to apply for an accelerated MA program with the , one of the world's leading centres for the study of international development, and situated just a few blocks from the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

In this new partnership, IDS students will be able to receive both their BA from 海角精品黑料 and then their master鈥檚 in international development studies from Geneva. This is one of the only such programs in the world, and will give IDS students an accelerated path to advancing their studies and their careers.

The terms for this program are as follows:

  • An IDS student would have to complete all their requirements to graduate in the equivalent of 3.5 years. E.g., graduate one semester earlier than normal.
  • Upon successful graduation in December, the student would then move to Geneva in February to complete 1.5 years for their master鈥檚 degree. This includes two semesters of full coursework, and one final semester of an applied project, which normally takes the form of an internship in Geneva. (The applied internship/practicum is one of the most exciting aspects of the master鈥檚 at Geneva).
  • In sum: 3.5 years for a BA at 海角精品黑料, and 1.5 years in Geneva for the MA.

To apply to this program:

  • In a student's second-to-last year, they apply by December 1 internally to 海角精品黑料, where a committee of ISID faculty will assess all application materials. The committee will then recommend up to five students to be admitted.
  • Those five students will then apply directly to Geneva's official application, by the deadline of January 15. The ISID committee will have shared with Geneva the five nominated students, so provided that the student successfully completes the application, they will be given a provisional acceptance into the partnership BA/MA program.
  • The accepted students must then completed all their 海角精品黑料 BA requirements by the following December, meaning that they graduate one semester early.

Throughout the process, the nominated students will benefit from the student services at the Geneva Graduate Institute, to help prepare applications for their student visa, to enroll in courses, to plan their degree progression, and to get ready to move to Switzerland and start their exciting postgrad career.
